Greenbelt Lake in Summer

Trail at Playground The Greenbelt Lake Park's new addition is the "Beaver Honeymoon Cache" (placed Aug. 6, 2006). Currently (as of August, 2006) it is at the top of the
list of Geocaches in the Greenbelt area.
Trail at Playground The Greenbelt lake is a favorite summer destination for Greenbelt residents and neighbors. Picnic tables can be found along the lake shore and a large playground area hosts concerts and spectators of firework displays. Trail at Playground Algae growth Algae are a problem. The southern and eastern parts of the lake are green with algae. Hay bales are supposed to encourage the growth of bacteria that can fight the algae so far with limited success. Hay Bales
Lake seen from the North-East The lake as seen from the North-East, near the playground and picnic area. Lake outlet The lake drains into this channel leading west to Indian Creek.
